F100 Door Locks Issue

F100 door locks issue.

I recently purchased a 1967 f100 ranger and have been working out all of the little kinks. 2017 f350 xlt has power door locks but when unlocked and i try to open the drivers door i can see the manual lock unlock rod sticking through the top of the door panel drops into the locked position. Open the keyless entry remote control with a small flathead screwdriver then. This will happen as the door is starting to open and sometimes when you close the door harshly.
